Properties:N-hexane is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon in petroleum and one of the main components of petroleum ether and naphtha. The chemical formula is C6H14, which belongs to straight chain saturated fatty hydrocarbons. It is a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature, with a slight petroleum odor. Easy to evaporate, steam is heavier than air. Form an explosive mixture with air, with an explosive limit of 1.18% to 7.4% (volume fraction).
