Used as a purifying agent for gases, as well as a raw material for synthetic drugs and organic synthesis;
Used as analytical reagents, gas chromatography fixatives, softeners, and lubricants, as well as in organic synthesis;
Aminodiethanol, also known as diethanolamine, is an intermediate of the herbicide glyphosate.
Diethylamine is mainly used as an absorbent for acidic gases such as CO2, H2S, and SO2, a nonionic surfactant, an emulsifier, a polishing agent, an industrial gas purifier, and a lubricant. It is used as thickener foam improver in shampoo and light detergent, and as softener in synthetic fiber and leather production. Diethylamine reacts with 70% sulfuric acid to dehydrate and cyclize to form morpholine (i.e. 1,4-oxazepane). Both morpholine and diethanolamine are intermediates in organic synthesis, such as being used to produce certain optical bleaching agents in the textile industry. The fatty acid salts of morpholine can be used as preservatives, and morpholine can also be used to produce the central inhibitory drug fluconazole or as a solvent. Diethylamine is used as a reagent and gas chromatography stationary liquid in analytical chemistry, selectively retaining and separating alcohols, diols, amines, pyridine, quinoline, piperazine, thiols, thioethers, and water.
Acidic gas absorbent, oxidant, organic synthesis, softening and lubricant. Gas chromatography stationary phase (maximum operating temperature 60 ºC, solvent methanol) selectively retains and separates alcohols, diols, amines, pyridine, quinoline, piperazine, thiols, sulfides, and water.
